Xanders Karachi

Xanders Karachi is a modern gourmet café – the concept is all about simple, fresh ingredients & light meals. You can grab a quick open-faced sandwich, a bowl of pasta, an ‘old school cheese burger’ or a delicious dessert along with the all day breakfast that we will be serving.

The cafe’s ambience is minimalistic and vibrant. With Indoor and outdoor seating, WI-FI and the latest lounge music, Xander’s promises to be the perfect place for the city’s younger and older discerning customers to get together.

Upon entering Xanders Karachi – we were surrounded by beautiful trees, with a glass placed next to them and one could even peek at the green and white illuminated walls inside the café from the outside. The sitting area highly complimented the purple cushioned chairs and grey comfortable sofas.

Even though, the menu may not have a vast variety of items, what wins most of the hearts is the fact that it has a remarkable amount of all day breakfast menu. This is highly in favour of people who do not prefer to wake up early for breakfast. As we hovered through the menu, our first glimpse went to the Blueberry Pancakes and Full English Breakfast which mainly comprises of beans, salami, fried egg, hash browns and toast served together. As we did not go with the intention of going for lunch we decided to pass on that for this trip; otherwise we would have definitely given it a try.

Apart from this, Xanders Karachi menu is famously known for its salads, open-face sandwiches, burgers and brick-oven pizzas, beverage and coffee. Since ordering Smoked Chicken Jalapeno would have been too cliché, we decided to order something different. Hence, we decided to go for Feta and Spinach pizza. This flavour is definitely worth mentioning as it was simply out of this world! We have had pizzas from several places but this was one of a kind. As the name suggests, it did not have any meat but had the perfect combination of spices, with a perfect balance of cheese and other vegetables. A must try for all the pizza lovers!

Trio of Mini Burgers was also delicious, comprising of blue-cheese, mini beef patty and sautéed mushrooms. For the first time ever, I did not feel stuffed after munching on a burger as they were three tiny burgers. The much talked about Prawn open sandwich was not that great as it tasted bland and contained excessive amount of rocket and lettuce in the sandwich. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal with Blue Margarita – a really refreshing crushed ice drink with a tinge of lemony taste to it. Love it yet once again!

Our food team’s experience at Xanders Karachi would have been incomplete leaving without having the desserts. Since, we’re die-hard chocoholics; we simply could not seem to get our eyes off the Double Chocolate Brownie. The brownie came piping hot, with a scoop of vanilla ice cream placed on the side. This brownie is to die for as it had the perfect amount of Hershey’s chocolate chips. They would simply melt in one’s mouth.

The owner, Sikander has done an excellent job in terms of food service and hiring well behaved staff who understand the customers demand and put forward the right recommendations. Per head is usually not more than Rs 1000. I, however, feel the portions are not enough for one person. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed a relaxing food experience at a casual place like Xanders Karachi. It is a must-go space, especially when catching up with old friends or holding business meetings.
